Cooperstown Carnival 2009:
The Days and Knights of Winter

The 43rd annual Cooperstown Winter Carnival - held February 6, 7 and 8, 2009 - was a huge success, thanks in large part to all of the sponsors, raffle prize donors and volunteers. The Winter Carnival Committee would like to extend their appreciation to all who played a role in making "The Days and Knights of Winter" the outstanding event that it was, as well as the Cooperstown community for participating in the weekend's events.

The Cooperstown Winter Carnival (CWC), a long-time traditional winter festival, began in 1967 with the intention of offering a variety 50of activities for residents and tourists to Cooperstown during the early winter month of February. The CWC brings people out into the cold and gives them a reason to celebrate with their friends, neighbors, and visitors. Each year the CWC creates new and exciting events, while bringing the same traditions back that people have come to expect.

The Winter Carnival Committee proudly announces the theme of this year's Carnival - "The Days and Knights of Winter" - to be held February 6, 7 and 8, 2009. The annual festival will combine the usual favorite activities with new and exciting events for children and adults of all ages, centered around this year's Medieval theme!

Another addition to the Carnival this year will be the third "Find Frosty Medallion Hunt." Stay tuned for more details on this exciting challenge in the weeks leading up to Carnival!

The CWC is coordinated by a team of 11 volunteers and involves hundreds of businesses and organizations that provide support, resources, and programs and activities. We look forward to seeing you at the Cooperstown Winter Carnival!
